Feeling the pressure of needing to look put together and polished

"When are you going to let go of having to look good, polished and put together ALL the time?"

As an advocate for wholehearted soul-aligned living, and after years of mindset work, energy work, all "the" works, this question is still one that I walk with.

Something that you may resonate with.

To be productive. To be on. Especially in my coaching business. To get the shit done that I knew was going to move the needle. To be looking like I was the high achiever, go-getter I always believed myself to be.

When I looked in the rear view mirror for a moment myself, I realised that this looked damn familiar. My ego is out to plan a trip. We had just departed the gate away from home, headed straight to burnout town. Again.

It's in those small moments of awareness where you get to consciously choose. And it's those choices that will shape who you are as a human, as a leader or [insert any other hat you wear in life].

To really listen and honour your needs or to sacrifice your selfcare. To call out the thing that isn't sitting right in your gut or letting it brew and stew until it it comes around again. And possibly blows up in your face. To say no instead of yes, or yes instead of no when your energy demands it to. To put your hand up and say "I need help".

Calling yourself to yourself when you know this isn't in alignment. That is leadership. Sometimes you can do this lovingly with a table spoon of soothing honey when it's the start of a sore throat. But sometimes what you need is the bitter and thick medicine, like that 'good' Chinese herbal tea that smells like old sweaty sock, to get rid of obvious inflammation. Because you want to get rid of it fast.

What are you present to that you deep down desire to shift?

What's the medicine for you today?

Much love
