Are you prioritising your mental health?

Recognising the importance of mental health & being able to pause when needed is not weakness. It's Leadership.

It's been a few full on weeks on many fronts and my mental health has been stretched. Some days can just feel relentless. An unexpected sequence of events, at home or at work, a compound of small things, that if they'd happen in isolation we may not even flinch, can throw off our balance. No matter how resilient we are. It can happen to us all.

We don't need to wait to be physically unwell to give ourselves a break. Leadership is recognising it's not sustainable to go at 100 miles/hour at everything all the time without burning our mental health, especially with the climate we're in.

I think this is an opportunity to step up our own leadership to recognise we or perhaps even others need a minute. Be kind to ourselves. Set and honour our boundaries. Say no or time out. To actually pause. To create space for ourselves and others.

Today my husband showed me leadership in the expression of his loving support & these beautiful flowers. Recognising in our partnership that I can use some support to pause and look after my own mental health. And I'm very grateful 💞
